Trend Forecasts at INTERIORS UK 2013
INTERIORS UK teamed up with Birmingham City University , Global Color Research™ and digital wall covering brand Tektura, and invited innovative students from our Birmingham Institute of Art & Design to explore 2013/14 trend predictions from Mix Publications. The partnership was in its sixth year and has resulted in over 500 students engaging with interiors industry experts resulting in work placements, internships and employment.
The results each year speak for themselves, with designs being taken up by some of the nation’s leading brands and launching the careers of a range of new designers.
The partnership stand was a popular highlight at INTERIORS UK 2013...

BCU have worked closely with Interiors & Lifestyle Futures, and have collaborated with regionally based designers and manufacturers to develop a range of stimulating and thought provoking outcomes for each Trend which showcase the students’ work and demonstrate how Trends can be applied from original design thinking through to the end product.
Colaborating closely with Global Color Research™ and Mix Publications has provided new inspiration to drive forward trends prediction and represents a significant change in the trends and design development into the curriculum for interior, product and textile design. It reflects the potential of international players to contribute significantly to education, whilst highlighting the benefits that education can give to industry.
