The New Design Britain Awards are one of the most important competitions in the UK for young design talent, giving recognition to students for innovative and ground-breaking work and providing an opportunity for INTERIORS UK to encourage new young stars and look to the future of the furniture industry.

Deadline for entries is Friday 26th July 2013 and for all supporting material by Friday 4th October 2013.

Categories:

• Furnishing accessories: Lighting, tableware, decorative & soft furnishings
• Surface coverings: Surfaces for wall & ceiling
• Furniture: Cabinet, bedroom, kitchen – internal & external furniture
• Fabrics: Textiles & fabrics for curtains & upholstery

Judges choice:
Award presented to the product or design that has involved the most innovative use of materials & function. All entries will be considered for this award. There will be a winner from each of the product sectors. Winners will each win a placement at a leading industry supplier.

How to enter:
The awards are open to undergraduates or postgraduates. Students must return the completed application form by Friday 26th July 2013 and supporting material by Friday 4th October 2013 which must include: working drawings (photocopies acceptable), a brief description outlining progress from original concept, design, making and function (no more than 500 words) with colour photographs of the items.
