Alessandro Foglia
New Design Britain finalist
Alessandro Foglia, a Product Design graduate from the University of Lincoln, has designed a spoon / thermometer. When he originally designed the spoon it was intentionally meant to be a comical / novelty product to use when stirring your cup of tea. The thermometer spoon would help indicate when safe to drink your tea to avoid burning your mouth, or experiencing a cold cuppa. But then it soon dawned on him how this product could be taken seriously if aimed in other areas. For example there is potential for the product to be used in the preparation and serving of food for babies / toddlers, and that of OAP’s in care homes. There is also potential for the product to be used in hospitals.
