Ptolemy Mann - THE ARCHITECTURE OF CLOTH, COLOUR AND SPACE
Ptolemy has been running her textile art and design studio since 1997. After graduating from Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art she has established herself as the unique creator of one-off woven architectural art panels.
She exhibits and lectures regularly throughout the UK and abroad and writes regularly for the textile magazine Selvedge. She is a member of the GLOBAL COLOUR RESEARCH UK Colour trend prediction panel and colour consultant for Dulux Trade Paint company. In 2009 she curated the exhibition ‘Significant Colour’ at the ARAM gallery in London. Clients include NHS, Hilton Hotel group, GlaxoSmithKline, The Open University, Cunard, KPMG, Savills, Derwent London, Building Better Health, Land Securities Swankye Hayden Connell Architects and Stanton Williams Architects. Inge Lehmann - HOW TO ANTICIPATE WHAT CONSUMERS WANT - THE EVOLUTION OF HOME STYLES
Inge is a Partner at New York lifestyle agency, Whitaker International and a leading expert in the retail strategy field.
Her seminar session will explain the unique concept of ‘Lifestyle Merchandising’ – a new way to understand and define customers by lifestyle choices rather than by age or demographics. Whitaker International’s client list features the likes of Macy’s Department Stores, Ralph Lauren Home, Wal-Mart and Calvin Klein.

Oliver Heath - SUSTAINABLE FURNITURE: HOW TO MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS FOR YOU, YOUR CLIENT AND THE ENVIRONMENT
Making big purchases for the home – such as beds, dining tables and sofas – will always be big decisions, but they don’t have to have a big impact on the environment. In this seminar, Oliver Heath will discuss what to consider when creating more sustainable and healthier spaces in the home.
Eco expert Oliver Heath set up his first design practice in 1998 – specialising in environmentally sustainable architecture and eco interiors. His first TV appearance was when he won BBC Homefront's Young Designer of the Year competition and he then went on to present BBC's Changing Rooms and ITV’s Dream Homes. He has written 3 books, regularly contributes to newspapers and magazines, runs his own on line eco store, EcoCentric and even has his own range of ‘Eco Chic’ natural paints for Earthborn. He’s also a campaign spokesperson for various environmental groups such as the Energy Savings Trust, the Waste Recycle Action Program (WRAP) and Friends of the Earth.

Hannah Malein - COLOUR STORIES FOR AUTUMN WINTER 2012/13 FROM MIX TRENDS
An in-depth look at the colour trend stories for Autumn Winter 2012/13 and how key colours, shapes, surfaces and materials for the season can be applied to interiors, architecture and product design. The seminar uses inspirational images from the Mix Trends colour forecasting book.

Dan Hopwood - CONFESSIONS OF AN INTERIOR DESIGNER
In these days of fast-changing fashions in interior design and tedious TV makeovers, Dan considers the alternatives. Famous for his slow burn approach to design, he takes us on a tour of his own projects letting us into a few trade secrets and sharing the ups and downs of how he achieves the finished result. Sometimes serious and often very funny, his talk will convince you about the necessity of using an interior designer and, at the same time, will refresh even the most jaded professional.

Nic Cuminsky - GOOGLE: HOW IS MOBILE BECOMING A DRIVING FORCE IN RETAIL ENGAGEMENT AND WHERE TO NEXT?
Google’s retail expert will cover the UK mobile landscape in this fascinating seminar.
Cuminsky will provide an introduction to tomorrow’s mobile world, looking at payments and mobile commerce, as well as exploring how forward-looking brands are already embracing innovative mobile opportunities.

Dennis Reid - HOPE IS NOT A RETAIL STRATEGY
Are you just hoping for the best in 2012? If so, why not let Dennis Reid from Retail Performance Specialists change your mind with an inspirational and thought-provoking seminar that will help you focus on a winning strategy. This session will look at how you can achieve a 20% increase in your sales within 12 months using tried and tested methods that will help build a more profitable and valuable business in a low or no growth market place.
Reid is a former international sportsman in his native New Zealand, and went on to work with Olympic individuals and teams, as well as studying at the Australian Institute of Sport. Fiona Elliot - THE VALUE OF LIGHTING TO THE INTERIORS MARKET
This seminar will explore how lighting can enhance your existing offer and deliver more profit to your business. Fiona will cover key ranges to develop, display ideas, legislation to be aware of, and help and advice that is available to retailers.
Ex-Habitat lighting buyer Fiona Elliott has over 25 years’ experience of developing lighting ranges for the domestic market. As well as working for major retailers such as BHS, Homebase, The Pier and Argos, she is on the judging panel for the Lighting Associations Student Design Award and is a former judge of the European Lighting Design Awards. Fiona was for many years lighting consultant to trend agency WGSN, has developed a trend area for the Lighting Show at the NEC and currently supplies trend predicitions to the Lighting Association members, via their website.

Peter Cross - (TITLE OF SEMINAR TBC)
Peter Cross is widely recognised as one of the best retail brand strategists in the UK. Having worked in marketing communications for over 15 years, he started his career at Burberry in Paris in the European buying team, then moved back to London to L’Oreal where he spent 11 years in a variety of local and international marketing positions. Next, he took up a position with the Richemont Group in charge of global communications for Alfred Dunhill before joining Yellowdoor as Managing Partner in 2004. He now works with 'Queen of Shops' Mary Portas on a number of high profile retail projects.

Shaun Clarkson - (TITLE OF SEMINAR TBC)
One of the UK’s leading interior designers in the vibrant modern hospitality sector, Shaun has been an interior designer since the late 1980s when he started his career working on some of the first modern bar and club concepts in London including the Raw Club, Denim, POP and Atlantic Bar. More recently, he’s created the highly-acclaimed Perrier Jouet Champagne Bar for Harvey Nichols and the iconic OXO Tower bar. Shaun is widely recognised as one of the true pioneers of the UK hospitality business – his creative style and vision have created venues that have shaped the industry. He’s in the process of branching out in to retail this year, opening Pifield London – a stylish curiosity shop, café and gallery in East London’s Hoxton area with textile designer Paul Brewster.

Paul Daly - (TITLE OF SEMINAR TBC)
Paul Daly talks about his fascinating journey from artist to designer and bar owner, and explores the importance of design in all aspects of our lives.
Paul Daly is an Irish designer with an interesting background; He grew up in Africa, sang in a band, studied metal work, ship-building and fashion, then worked in New York. After graduating from Goldsmiths College, London (in Fine Art), he set up the Paul Daly Design Studio in Hoxton Square, 1988, and has since designed over a hundred bars, clubs, restaurants, retail premises and residential projects as well as producing his own furniture range. His past clients include Coca Cola, The Breakast Group, Jamesons and stage sets for U2. Paul also owns, operates and designs for the growing leisure business Paul Daly Venues.

Neil Hogan - (TITLE OF SEMINAR TBC)
Neil Hogan is Creative Director and co-founder of award-winning architecture and design firm, SHH. He leads the company's commercial team and is responsible for bar, restaurant, office and retail projects as well as the branding and graphics team. Neil's past achievements include the award-winning revamp of McDonald's in London's Oxford Street, Café Liberty at Liberty’s iconic Regent Street store, the new restaurant at historic Hatfield House and two restaurants at MOSI (Museum of Science and Industry) in Manchester. Neil is currently working on concepts for global retailers and leisure operators, especially in Russia and the Middle East.

Richard Gomersall and Kate Hardcastle - INSIGHT WITH PASSION – Retail Theatre: Bringing the shop floor to life for your customers
