These stunning lace-effect 'netched' accessories and pieces of furniture by London-based artist Jo Gibbs attracted a lot of attention at INTERIORS UK 2012.
Using pieces of vintage lace and a top secret etching method - referred to as 'netching' - Jo transfers net-like patterns found in dainty doilies and antique lace to vintage wooden school chairs, beautiful old mirrors, elegant porcelain plates, jewellery boxes and leather bags. The collection is called 'Up', as it's 'up-cycled' - recycled but improved.
Jo's work is a unique mixture of delicate, old-fashioned craft and stylish industrial and vintage pieces; It's very 'now' and proving popular already - Jo's pretty boxes feature in Vogue magazine this month, while her chairs have already been snapped up by a major retailer.

Commenting on her designs, Designersblock co-founder Rory Dodd said: "Jo's so modest. The nice thing is that she doesn't seem to realise how brilliant her work is!"
