The range includes a capsule collection of five pieces, each inspired by one of G Plan's originals from the 50s, and all handmade in Melksham, Wiltshire. The pieces are all named after the year in which they were originally released, and will be made to order in a selection of 17 textured, quality fabrics.

'G Plan came to prominence in a golden era of British Design that emerged and developed from the 1951 Festival of Britain,' says Tilly Hemingway from HemingwayDesign. 'This era of 'Mid Century Modern' design is now inspiring a whole generation of young designers once more, and I cannot tell you how exciting it has been to be able to trawl the G Plan archive with a brief to re-interpret the brands rich history for a new generation of modernists.'
There will also be a range of accent cushions and bolsters in HemingwayDesign prints available to complement the range. Prices range from £499 for the Sixty chair (above) to £1,400 for the Fifty Three sofa (top). The collection will be available exclusively from John Lewis from August 2012.
