Ikea has redesigned one of its old wingback armchairs, the MK, which was on sale during the early 1950s and even featured on the cover of the 1951 catalogue (see below). The new version, called Strandmorn, features the same design but made with modern materials and construction techniques so that it comes up to today's standards. The original neck pillow has been removed and the legs are slightly thinner, giving the chair a more contemporary look.

There's also a new matching footstool, allowing you to put your feet up with a good book and relax. The chair and footstool both come in two colours: Svanby grey and Vellinge blue; and the chair costs £175, while the footstool is £55, both on sale from August 2012.
